Research Ethics Board Information

Canadian Clinical Trial's Coordinating Centre (CCTCC) Research Ethics Board Accreditation Recommendations:

Established in April 2015, by the CCTCC in collaboration with Health Canada, the REB Accreditation Working Group was to identify strategies to improve efficiencies of ethics reviews and advance strategic issues like accreditation on a pan-Canadian level for Research Ethics Boards (REB) that review clinical trials.

CCTCC and Health Canada have developed a joint public response to the final recommendations (FRs) outlining the steps the two organizations can take to address the FRs. Click here to access the final recommendations and response. Of note, the document also contains the CCTCC REB Accreditation Working Group: Interview Report, prepared by Dr. Holly Longstaff of Engage Associates Consulting Group, and the Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research: Streamlining of Health Research Ethics Review (SHRER) External Advisory Committee Report for Discussion (2013).
