Our Mission: The Canadian Bioethics Society (CBS) is a collaborative national member-driven organization that is committed to building bioethics capacity through the promotion of: 1) interdisciplinary and inter-professional networks of individuals (including students) and organizations; 2) excellence in bioethics education, research, & policy; 3) the advancement and dissemination of leading practices in bioethics; 4) the examination of professional issues in bioethics; 5) and public engagement and policy development around bioethics issues.

- Facilitate development of interdisciplinary working groups on topical issues in bioethics;
- Seek representation and advocacy for bioethics and bioethicists with such organizations as AMS, CIHR, Health Canada, SSHRCC;
- Support examination of effectiveness in bioethics practice;
- Facilitate linkages between trainees and bioethics practitioners around career planning and development;
- Continue to explore ongoing means to support student capacity within the CBS and within the field of bioethics; |
| 3). Advance and disseminate leading practices in bioethics.. |
• Facilitate identification and sharing of innovations in bioethics theory and practice |
- Provide a forum for sharing leading practices in bioethics education, policy (academic and professional) and research;
- Develop a mechanism (e.g., web-based) for members to share emerging ideas and approaches in bioethics theory and practice;
- Link members to academic and practice-based communications tools to facilitate dissemination and knowledge translation of emerging bioethics research and practice.
